Follow the money. Before you send it.
We investigate the companies that sell gold, silver and “safe” retirement products, and the people who run them. We look at public records, regulatory actions and the accounts of customers and vendors, and we publish what we find.

Oasis Gold Group: the vendors who say they were never paid

Six red flags in a precious-metals pitch
These are the patterns regulators describe again and again in precious-metals fraud cases. If a sales call has two or more of them, stop and get independent advice.
The markup is never in writing
Ask for the total spread, commission and fees as a percentage. Legitimate dealers answer. In court cases, markups of 100–300% were hidden inside the “price.”
“Move your IRA now”
Pressure to roll over retirement savings quickly, often into a self-directed IRA, where custodians usually do not vet the asset or the seller.
Bullion becomes “special” coins
You call about gold bars and end up with “rare,” “limited” or “proof” coins that carry far higher markups and are hard to resell near their price.
Fear sells the deal
Talk of bank collapses, confiscation or government seizure of your IRA, used to rush you past ordinary questions.
Borrowed trust
Celebrity, religious or political endorsements, paid “featured in” articles, and claims of special ties to national mints.
No clear buy-back price
Ask what they would pay you for the same metal today. The gap between buy and sell is your immediate loss.
